Mia + Kosovar

Mia and Kosovar
We laughed, cried, and honestly forgot the cameras were even there. Shawna captured everything so beautifully and made us feel completely comfortable the entire time.
Mia + Kosovar first crossed paths through mutual friends, but it was at the gym where sparks really flew. Their first official date, just before Christmas, felt less like a first and more like a fifth. They spent the whole day together: Christmas shopping, lunch, coffee, wandering a winter market, splitting a local chocolate bun, dinner, the gym, and even a movie. It was the kind of date straight out of a Christmas special, and they’ve repeated a “Christmas date” tradition every year since.
Fast forward: after Mia finished her degree, Kosovar invited her on a celebratory trip to Bali. Visa issues rerouted them to Malaysia, where they spent their days chasing waterfalls. At one of those waterfalls, Kos proposed. Exactly one year later, they honored that moment by eloping on the same September date.
Mia is half Filipino, half Danish. Kosovar is Albanian, though he and his family live in Denmark. Their love blends cultures, families, and memories into something uniquely theirs.
We started their day in the dark, headlamps lighting the trail as I picked them up from their hotel. Mia blindfolded Kosovar so he couldn’t see her dress until the big reveal. Harry (working drone + social) hiked up with Kos first, guiding him to the perfect spot. A few minutes later, Mia, Rachel (their videographer), and I followed.
As Mia walked up the final stretch, Kos turned around for their first look. Tears. Smiles. Quiet words only they could hear. From there, we hiked to the famous “flying banana” viewpoint. Before the crowds arrived, Mia + Kos stood in the natural aisle carved by the landscape and exchanged private vows against a jagged sunrise skyline.
After the hike down and a cozy breakfast at their hotel, we drove to Lago di Braies. They rented one of the iconic wooden boats and rowed across the emerald waters, laughing the entire time. It was lighthearted, romantic, and completely them; a mix of adventure and fun.
The final stop: Cinque Torri. We grabbed pizza and picnic supplies before taking the lift up. Rain showers rolled in and out, but spirits stayed high. They popped champagne, snapped Instax photos of each other, and carved out intentional time just to breathe it all in.
Then, as mist curled around the peaks, Mia + Kos shared their first dance as husband and wife on the mountaintop. It was simple, raw, and unforgettable. We wrapped the evening with dinner at the rifugio before hiking down with headlamps.
